Cold hands are often a challenge in the alpine. One solution to get more warmth without sacrificing any dexterity is wrist warmers

One can make these in about 30 seconds with a pair or scissors and some worn out wool socks. These keep the exposed veins/arteries on the underside of your wrist insulated keeping your fingertips warmer. Jackets often slip back as you climb, have air gaps and thin cuffs that leave you with cold wrists. The cuff warmers fix all that with the added benefit of protecting the cuff of your jacket. If you’re climbing in a fragile puffy jacket it is very easy to rip up the cuffs as you climb. Give it a try!
